Filtrona Ltd is an equal partnership joint venture between ITC Limited and Filtrona International Limited,
U.K. the world leader in filter design and development. The company is located in the
outskirts of Bengaluru City.
ITC Filtrona commenced manufacture
of Acetate filter rods in 1994. It uses state-of-the- art technology and
currently has a capacity for manufacturing 7.5 billion filter rods per annum, which is
nearly 75% of the cigarette filter requirement in the country. It enjoys a 55% market share and has played a critical role in import substitution. It brings to the Indian market the state of the art filter
technology in the world in the form of Acetate filter rods and Specialty filters.
 The company is committed to delivering world
class quality and towards this end continuously invests in technology and R&D. In
recognition of this drive for excellence the company is conferred with several awards
including the Government of India’s best exporter
award, The Samman Patra. The company was a frontrunner in achieving the ISO 9001:2000 certification for its Quality
Management System.
It was the first
cigarette filter company in the world to achieve the ISO 14001:1996
certification for its Environment Management System and
OHSAS 18001:1999 for its Occupational Health and Safety System. The
company has also won the British Safety Council Award and 5
Star Rating for its Health and Safety System. ITC Filtrona is one of the
few SA 8000:2001 certified company in the
country for its Social Accountability system.
