Lifestyle India Fashion Week has Fiama Di Wills,
ITC's premium range of personal care products as
the Associate Sponsor. India's leading designers
Ranna Gill and Rina Dhaka have partnered with
Fiama Di Wills to showcase a special collection
tonight at WIFW.
Titled "Nature Meets Science", created for Fiama
Di Wills, Ranna Gill's collection sees the
season turn and summer fading to a glow. Nature
displays the rich vibrant colors of autumn that
reflect the anticipation of the winter that will
soon approach. Drawing inspiration from the
glory of rich colors of fall, Ranna creates a
Collection in hues that exude jewel tones with a
touch of stunning black. Designer Rina Dhaka
leaves tradition behind and uses Science where
new printing techniques have completely changed
the universe of patterns leaving room for huge
motifs and fabric texturing and movement.
An exclusive luxury lounge, Salon Di Wills will
continue to offer an oasis at the venue. Open to
the public by appointment only, the salon is a
spot for relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests can
relax and unwind at the Salon over refreshing
drinks while they get a relaxing massage or hair
styling done by specialists.

Ranna Gill's Autumn/ Winter 09 Collection is a

blues are married with gleaming emerald greens,
sensual wine berry, black berry, rosewood,
sangria, raisins along with midnight lady and
medieval blues. To heighten the impact of these
strong colors are hints and touches of brave
black. As always, Ranna fuses an interesting
blend of textures and fabrics to create
spectacular silhouettes.

Sophisticated suede, luxurious silk velvet used
in the long goddess dresses, draped day dresses,
over coats and fluid pants are embellished with
original and bold geometric embroidery and
quilting. The long flow length dresses with

of burnished gold, copper, and bronzes. The

Science, the new printing techniques have
completely changed the universe of patterns.
Today one can easily forget traditional designs.
The time is right for small range and for huge
motifs and fabric texturing and movement. There
is total freedom to create, to develop the
traditional by modernising the paisley or
reinterpret old fashioned, shawls.
To finish, I have imitated nature not in
traditional patterns but instead with precious
silks or placed embroideries. From tie and dye
to kinetic paisley, color gradation is midway
between the motif and a plain color.
