New DelhiI, Nov.12

If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then ITC Maurya Sheraton has definitely won over Bill Gates. Not only did he stay in the same signature suite in Maurya for the third time, which has been named the ‘Bill Gates Suite’, he also ordered Sikandari Raan from Bukhara restaurant, which has been his favourite. In between his 45 meetings held in the past two days, Bill Gates spared time to eat samosas specially prepared for him by Maurya’s chefs.

The delighted hotel staff did not forget to mention that Bill Gates ate six non-vegetarian and vegetarian samosas. For lunch on Monday, Gates savoured the delicacies from Bukhara, which he ordered in his suite. He settled for a range of dishes comprising Sikandari Raan, Murg Malai Kebab, Tandoori Jhinga, Bukhara Dal and naan. For dinner, however, he ordered Dumpukth Kakori Kebab with Sheermal (a special saffron bread), Sadqui Qorma, Dal Qureshi, Gosht Biryani. And the only thing he ordered for breakfast on Tuesday was Diet Coke! The officials said the North-West Frontier Province fare seemed to have fared well with him. He shook hands with chefs and kitchen staff and made himself comfortable. Described as a private and simple man, the staff was thrilled to have him around. To avoid crowd and for security reasons too, Bill Gates made his way through kitchens to move to banquets for his meetings.

He spent some time in the kitchens, appreciating the aroma of Indian spices and specially ordered Kakori Kebabs which he found very exciting. He praised the chefs and kitchen staff for their culinary skills. Gates also promised to bring his wife and newly born son to India on his next trip.
