As population grows and farm plots
become smaller, dependence on land is
unsustainable. The growth of rural
income is not possible without the
creation of non-farm livelihoods.
ITC focuses on developing two latent
resources of rural communities as
agencies of change (i) the untapped
earning power of women, and (ii) the
earning potential latent in almost all rural families, particularly the landless,
by virtue of their ownership of
domestic cattle.
|
| The opening up of new avenues of non-farm income and enterprise expands rural purchasing power, stimulating economic mobility. |
