GENERATION
ITC has encouraged the production of agarbattis as an attractive micro enterprise because
of its marketability. The success already notched up shows clear potential of it growing
into a thriving cottage industry in the District.With
training and marketing support, 6 Centres with more than 350 members, are gainfully
employed. Production has already reached 4 tons per month. For erstwhile unemployed women
members this provides a critical supplementary income ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500
per month.
As part of Sunehra Kal's efforts to improve agricultural
practices, women have also formed SHGs to produce vermicompost commercially. |
