MUMBAI: The Fashion Design Council of India
(FDCI) announced that Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (Spring/Summer 2007 Collection)
will be presented from August 30-September 3, 2006 in New Delhi.
The team again is gearing up for India’s next biggest B2B fashion trade event
following the overwhelming success of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi this
month.
Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCI said, “We are delighted and overwhelmed with
the response to our Autumn/Winter showcase this week that has just concluded. We’ve
had such excellent and positive response from our participating designers, buyers and
media, both national and international, and other key members of the fashion fraternity
that we decided to make this announcement at the earliest, so that as a team we can start
our planning process immediately for India’s premier B2B fashion trade event. We have
decided to showcase the Spring-Summer Collections in New Delhi again because of the timing
of the Week and keeping weather conditions in mind.”
Atul Chand, General Manager, Marketing & Retail, ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing
Business, said, “We are delighted with the success of the first edition of the Wills
Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The association of ITC’s Wills Lifestyle with the
country’s most prestigious lifestyle event has gotten off to a great start and we
look forward to setting new benchmarks in the coming Spring Summer edition”.
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is an all-encompassing fashion event, which caters to
the entire fashion fraternity. Participation this April 2006 was at an all time high, with
80 of India’s leading designers participating, including India’s most eminent
names in the world of fashion, accessory and textiles as well as young and upcoming
designers – “New Faces Going Places”.
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2006 aims to serve as an effective platform to promote
fashion design and provide industry professionals with the opportunity to form trade
linkages within India and globally.
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week offers participating designers a business presence
through a series of marketing tools, including seminars and workshops on various facets of
the industry, presentations and research reports – all aimed at informing and
updating buyers, investors, corporate houses and media.
