Solid Waste Recycling Positive for the last 4 years

Solid waste management in India, is an area of serious concern, with significant proportions of waste being disposed through land filling / dumping.

Poor waste management practices pose serious health hazards for people living in the neighbourhood and are also one of the main causes for environmental degradation. ITC Units recycle practically all the wastes generated by their operations and our Paperboards and Specialty Papers Business collects / procures significant amount of post consumer waste – thereby creating a positive environmental footprint.

Cigarette Factories at Bengaluru, Saharanpur, Kolkata and Pune, Leaf Threshing Unit at Anaparti, Paperboards and Specialty Papers Units at Kovai and Tribeni, Personal Care Business Unit at Haridwar, Foods Business Unit at Pune, the ITC Green Centre at Gurgaon, Surya Nepal’s Cigarette Factory at Simra and Hotels - ITC Maurya, ITC Maratha, ITC Grand Central, ITC Windsor, ITC Mughal, ITC Sonar, ITC Gardenia, ITC Kakatiya, WelcomHotel Sheraton Chola, WelcomHotel Sheraton New Delhi, and WelcomHotel Sheraton Rajputana reused/recycled more than 99% of all solid waste generated by their operations.
