representatives of the event partners and
various dignitaries and celebrities.
The
inaugural year saw some of the world’s best long
distance runners descend into Bangalore to
participate in this prestigious event and this
year should be no different. A 10K road race
demands a high octane combination of endurance
and speed and the Sunfeast World 10K Bangalore,
2009, carrying the tag of the ‘World’s Premier
10K Run’ event, is sure to attract the world’s
best long distance runners and track & field
stars.
Another unique aspect of an international road
race, unlike other sports, is the opportunity it
provides for running enthusiasts and sports
lovers to perform on the same stage.
Bangaloreans can now run on the same route and
in the footsteps of the world’s best runners to
experience the magic and soak in the atmosphere
that pervades international events of such
stature. It also will be a test of fitness and
endurance - both physical and emotional. Timing
chips will be available to all runners desirous
of wearing them, which in turn will ensure they
get a certificate that ratifies their timing and
is recognised in running circles throughout the
world.
Announcing the launch of Sunfeast World 10K
Bangalore, Shri Chitranjan Dar, Divisional Chief
Operating Officer, ITC Foods, said " We are
confident that the Sunfeast World 10k Bangalore
will grow into one of the signature events in
long distance running in India. Sunfeast’s
sponsorship of this highly acclaimed event is
integral to the brand’s philosophy – “Spread the
Smile”, which is what we aim to achieve by
sponsoring this cause. We are sure that an event
of this kind and magnitude and through its
unique format will draw participation from a
wide cross section of people. "
